Kentucky has more interest in medical marijuana than most states in America
Florida is the state with the highest interest in medical marijuana in America, a new study reveals.
The research, carried out by medical marijuana experts Leafwell, used Google search figures to reveal how frequently each state searches for medical marijuana and related search terms. These terms were combined to find each state’s average monthly searches for medical marijuana-related terms per 100,000 people.
The study revealed that Florida ranks as the state most interested in marijuana for medical purposes. With 231 monthly searches per 100,000 people, Florida topped the list with the highest search levels for terms related to medical marijuana of all 50 states. The state’s top search query was how to get a medical marijuana card in Florida.
Arkansas has the second-highest interest in medical marijuana, with 159 monthly searches for medical marijuana-related terms per 100,000 residents. The state’s top search request was getting a medical marijuana card online in Arkansas.
Mississippi places third, with 113 monthly average searches per 100,000 people. The state was most interested in how to get a medical marijuana card in Mississippi.
With 104 monthly searches per 100,000 people, Louisiana ranks fourth most interested in marijuana for medical use. Louisiana’s top search was also how to get a medical marijuana card in the state.
South Dakota has the fifth highest interest in medical marijuana in America, with 870 monthly average searches for terms related to medical marijuana, which worked out to 94 monthly searches per 100,000 residents.
The 10 states most interested in medical marijuana in America:
Missouri has the sixth-highest interest in medical marijuana, with 88 monthly searches per 100,000 residents. Virginia ranks seventh, with 68 monthly searches per 100,000 residents for terms related to medical marijuana.
Utah has the eighth-highest interest in marijuana for medical use, with 66 searches per 100,000 residents each month. Kansas had 63 monthly average searches for every 100,000 residents and is the ninth most interested in medical marijuana. Kansas was most interested in how much it costs to get a medical marijuana card in the state.
Closely following Kansas with 62 monthly average searches per 100,000 residents, Kentucky places tenth in the rankings, with its top question also being how to get a medical marijuana card in the state.
Idaho was revealed to have the lowest interest in medical marijuana of all 50 states, with zero monthly average searches for terms related to medical marijuana.
